Escape well

On December 16, 1949, Song Xilian, the former commander of the 14th Army Regiment of the Kuomintang, led the remnant to escape from Mabian River, Mamiao, and Bama Valley via Bajiao Valley. It was dry and rainy. However, there was a clear and sweet well near the stream. Song Xilian's remnant set up a pot to get water and cook. The food was not ready yet. There was gunfire coming from the PLA's pursuit of the army. So he abandoned the pot and fled hastily, crossed the Houzi Slope of Bajiao Valley, and fled towards Huangdan and Mabian. Song Xilian was captured by the PLA in Mabian the next year.
